NASA recon vehicle used for shuttle landings of the Challenger at Edwards Air Force Base, bought at auction in 1988 from U.S. Government at Rosamond CA . This is a 1965 International Harvester 1600 4x4 Military Truck with original O.D. paint interior, locking hubs ad name plates on dash. 35,418 miles with original U.S.G. title never registered to an individual. This truck was equipped with a cube van also O.D. in color, was used by NASA for observation of the shuttle Challenger on landing approach at Edwards Air Force Base. The truck was used by scientists stationed in the foothills communicating with pilots. This information was related to by the NASA employees when I picked up the truck at Edwards. The truck and van body were painted white and the decal letters were left for history on the door. The van body is also available for sale.
